Finished Great Class in Financial Accounting

March 1st 2011

Just back from Chicago and a great American Society of Appraisers course in M&E Appraising for Financial Accounting. A big thanks goes out to Doug Krieser, ASA of Valcon Partners Ltd for leading the course!

Up to speed now on SFAS 141R, SFAS 144, SFAS 142 and SFAS 157.  We also covered purchase price allocations, goodwill impairment testing and long-lived asset impairment testing.

Enjoyed some great Italian restaurants while in Chicago, but unfortunately didn’t have the chance to get some wonderful Chicago pizza! Maybe next time…

Traveling to Chicago this week for ME215

February 20th 2011

Getting ready to travel to Chicago this week to take part in the American Society of Appraisers course in Performing Machinery & Equipment Valuations for Financial Reporting Purposes.  Here’s our course overview:

“The objective of ME215 is to introduce the MTS appraiser to the standards that govern valuations for financial reporting purposes, how they apply to MTS appraisers and how these valuations are the same and differ from other valuations performed by experienced MTS appraisers.”

I’m looking forward to some great Chicago pizza, too! I’ll give an update when I get back!
